I figured this would be an X-rated 'pornographic-type' read but maybe in good taste because of all of the high reviews. Instead it was an awesome story about the emotional ups and downs that life throws at us with some hot sex thrown in.Stephanie hooked me at the first paragraph..."My name is Katelin and I have a secret. It’s something that no one knows about me. Something that no one will ever find out. Well, only if they manage to crack the super difficult password for my Kindle and peruse my reading material. Even the thought of that sends a shiver of mortification down my spine. I know that you know exactly what I mean. There are so many amazing sexy romance novels out there, packed with dreamy book-boyfriends that never do annoying things like drone on about sport or forget your birthday. I can get lost for hours with an alpha or a bad boy, a charmer or a rogue and I do, regularly. Maybe too regularly. Maybe that’s why I’ve been single for a while and haven’t even really been bothered about it. Well, not really. My latest book downloads have all had an extra twist. I feel weird admitting to reading more ménage romances since my best friend Carrie hooked up with her hotter than fire twin stepbrothers."After reading this I was thinking to myself 'Thank God I'm not the only one that feels this way!' My next thought was 'Ugh! This is a book - not true confessions!' Lol!! But it was writing like this that really brought me in close to the story. Stephanie also made the story real to me by winding in 'real' life events. Events that make you laugh out loud and even cry a little."Every mistake we make teaches us a little more about how to live our lives better in the future." Stephanie had many of these inspiring sayings scattered throughout this story.Is there excellent character development? Yes - despite the fact that the main characters that Katelin was in love with were twins and the twin's half brother. Each of them was still distinctive.Interesting plot? YesHot sex scenes? Yes (No M/M)Is there a happy ending? YesThis can be read as a standalone however it would probably be best if you read them in order (Huge, Huge X2, Huge X3) as some of the characters from the previous books do make an appearance in this story.
This was the epitome of word porn without plot. Despite their being some semblance of a plot concerning Katy/Katelin with her cancer scare and then adding in Carrie going into labor and ending up having a caesarean, this made this so drawn out. I'm not sure I was even curious or excited about the sex in this. It all seemed so droll, repetitive and lacking. There was nothing that made this stand out. I didn't feel envious of Katelin's situation either. Katelin likes Bryan, Bryan has twin half brothers Austin and Jason, Katelin has sex with Bryan's twin half brothers without knowing they were Bryan's siblings, Katelin's mother is dating Bryan's father and has been for three years without her knowledge. This had potential to go out with a bang (pun intended) but ended up fizzling out before it even got started.
Would not recommend this book . Very unromantic and sloppy sex. Won't read this author ever again. Not for me.
I'm all for some hot and raunchy sex, but come on!!! Some of the sex scenes were a bit much! A woman has to take sanitary precautions! I mean seriously!!!
Good enough quick read but some editing/formating issues that may or may not have been the author's or publisher's fault. Enjoy it for what it is, a quick read with a little heat with another quick read behind it followed by several teasers.
I thoroughly enjoyed this book. I feel that it fit in perfectly with the first two stepbrother books. The drama was good but not over played. The characters seemed realistic and the story as a whole was well written. A great summer read or a quick pick me up!
I'm sitting here, my jaw to the floor, wondering how in the world I'm going to articulate how this book DESTROYED me. It was perfection, in every sense of the word. Stephanie Brother manages the seemingly impossible by getting better and BETTER with each book. I read Huge & Huge X2, thinking that there was NO way that she could top that... and I was SO wrong.Huge X3 was phenomenal.It was an emotional roller coaster, an on-the-edge-of-your-seat, IMPOSSIBLE TO PUT DOWN read that had me devouring this book like a starving man at an all you can eat buffet.There aren't many books that I can say GRAB me by the throat emotionally. I definitely feel amazing when I read awesome books, but Huge X3 ripped my heart out of my chest and took a big bite out of it. It was THAT good.Huge X3 picks up with Katelin (who was introduced in the first two books). The Huge series can be ready in any order, really, but it definitely makes for a richer, more addicting reading experience if you read them in order. (Believe me, they're ALL fantastic and worth reading.) Katelin sees the amazing relationship that her best friend Carrie has with her twin stepbrothers, Nathan & Ethan. She finds that she wants something similar. She has longings that she never really realized that she had until she saw Carrie and her boys. Polygamous relationships aren't something that society really smiles upon or looks upon favorably, but Katy can't help but be drawn to them like a moth to the flame.Readers of Huge X2 will remember that Katelin has been secretly in love with Bryan for years, a delicious guy that seems to have put her squarely in the friend zone. She's frustrated because everyone knows that Bryan seems to like her but doesn't seem "brave enough" to pursue Katy.Katy finds herself going to the town club/bar, "The Red Devil", & sees a set of twins that look incredibly similar to Bryan. They introduce themselves as Austin & Jason and mention that they are from New York & are in town visiting family. Little does Katy know that the twins are half brothers of Bryan. There's an instant, fiery connection between her and the twins and soon she finds herself going home with them. But just when she thinks she's struck gold, her whole world comes crashing down in a dark reality.The drama and angst in this book was perfectly written, along with the character development. We get a closer look at why Bryan has been avoiding anything romantic with Katy and the emotions that Katy feels is like a knife to the heart– it's so relatable, SO intense.The way that Stephanie delved into everything that the characters went through made for SUCH a rich experience. It made me feel as though I KNEW the characters, like they're my best friends... people whose numbers should be on my phone and I can call them at any time. She fleshed them out SO well & so thoroughly, including other characters from the previous books. It was an incredible experience.The writing in this was golden, absolutely perfect. It flowed effortlessly from page to page and was incredibly addicting. This book was so much MORE than the past two books in a way... It had a DEPTH to it that the others didn't quite have, which I LOVED. Stephanie Brother becomes a better writer with each and every book she publishes. It was an absolute pleasure to devour this whole and I absolutely recommend it.Do yourself a favor and ***READ, READ, READ*** this book!!!10+++ STARS!!!
