There are a couple of things to note in reference to this review. First, I seldom, if ever, read books in this particular genre, i.e. political stuff. Second, I am an independent as to politics. I vote for the person and not the party and over the past six decades plus of voting my record has been about 50/50 as to which party candidate I voted for. I pretty much hold both parties in contempt and go for the candidate rather than the party.That being said...when I found that this work had been put on the “Trumpster Index Expurgatorius....well I had to purchase it and read it despite my distaste for this sort of work. I wondered why this man(?) so badly wanted to stop this books publication...what did he want to hide?I, like many others here take works such as this with a grain of salt. But I will tell you that if even a small fraction of the information presented here is true (and I have no doubt it is) then it makes my blood run cold. Now I am not one of those who feel that the circus which is Trump will bring down our nation. Hey, we survived bad apples before such as Harding, Andrew Johnson, Pierce, Fillmore, Garfield, et al and of course we will NOT be able to fully assess Trumps impact upon our nation for at least fifty or seventy five years from now, but even leaving out the information in this book it is becoming pretty obvious where Trumps place in history will land.The book is written in a chatty way (something I dislike) but the information I found pretty well covered most of the events as we have all seen played out over the past year or so. I had no reason to doubt much of the information presented here.I do feel that the author probably placed too much of his own “spin” on some of the facts but most readers will be able to spot this quite quickly and make up their own mind.I suspect that over the next decade or so we will see a plethora of books addressing this administration and this clown written by insiders and political pundits. This is good because as I write this review so much more has been discovered and by all signs there will be much more to come. I am glad I forked out the few dollars as I was at least (in a goulash way) entertained as I read it and I must admit rather frightened.Those who are Trumpsters will, if they even read the book, will not be pleased. For the other 65 percent plus of the voter population...well, they probably will get a kick out of it.

Michael Wolff spent months inside the Trump White House, often hanging out on the couch in a common area, talking to people, but also simply listening.It's important to note that Wolff has a reputation of being a somewhat sloppy reporter, not always reliable. It's also important, though, to note that no one mentioned in this book has denied saying what he attributes to them in this book. There are disagreements over interpretation, but not over what they said. Other reporters, with better reputations, as well as other people with access, say that while there may be inaccuracies of detail, the overall account rings true.Steve Bannon, now out of the White House, and indeed having further torched his standing with his failed support of Roy Moore's campaign for the US Senate in Alabama, was his main point of entry to the White House and apparently his major source. That's a possible source of bias in the gloss that gets put on the facts.Overall, this is an alarming picture of a White House in chaos. It's fascinating, revealing, and scary. It needs to be taken with a few grains of salt, and compared with other accounts and reporting as they become available. Nevertheless, it's an important contribution to understanding what is going on in our government and why.Recommended.I bought this book.

Forget his detractors. Wolff is telling an important story here, and there have been exactly zero credible denials of the key material facts presented herein. Yes, there is opinion and speculation here, particularly when Wolff tries to infer affect and intention from outward behavior. But there's no attempt to package opinion as fact, and it's not difficult to separate the subjective from the objective. One can argue how much you'll know about the Trump White House, in the sense of quantifiable data, after reading this astonishing book. But what is irrefutable is how much you'll *understand* this administration and its tragic, even fatal flaws. This is the proverbial "fly on the wall" chronicle, and is a must-read for anyone that wants to grasp the breadth of dysfunction and degeneracy that attend this Presidency.

This was the worst book I've ever read. I bought it in February and just now finished it.All the hype what a let down. I'm not a college graduate but I do read a lot and know big words, but please I felt I was reading a term paper. Nothing earth shattering in this book, just a author who uses big words to make us think he's intelligent. Don't waste your time just watch the news.

What can be said, that hasn't already been said about the President?Nothing in this book will surprise anyone who has been following the trials and tribulations of the 45th President of the United States, Donald J. Trump. His supporters will cry foul, and say some of it isn't true -- and some of it might not be -- but if even 10% of what is in this book is true, holy crap!Reading this book is like being forced to eat an entire 5 gallon carton of ice cream in one sitting. It is yummy and you don't want to stop. And then you do want to stop but you can't, because the book has you roped in. You should feel good, but in reality you feel awful, because of what you just did to yourself.So tread lightly, dear reader. You won't want to put the book down, but you won't be better off for reading it, either. If you don't like it, do something productive -- stop eating the ice cream and get off the couch. Make America AMERICA again!

I learned nothing from this book and was only mildly entertained with some trivial fact not important or relevant enough to be published in newspapers. I am not a Trump fan but I still doubt the author's credibility.

My daughter really enjoys this version of Hansel and Gretel. It’s for intermediate readers ages 6 and up. There is also a movie based on this book by scholastic on dvd.

Purchased for my classroom. Children loved the books. They were at a level east for all students to read and enjoy.

Love the story and illustrations.Its !y grandson's fav book.

I teach music. The Theatre Arts teacher and I used this book in a project we did on Hansel and Gretel. The kids enjoyed looking at the booking and reading the story. I am glad we bought it.

It got here when it was suppose to.. It really is the story of little red riding hood.Wait..

I bought the book for my 6 year old grandson. He's just learning to read. The book was easy to read and he really enjoyed reading it to the family. A really great book.

This is the 2nd Criminal Evidence book that I've utilized by Gardner and I must admit, this, as with the previous edition, are great books. It provides lots of clear details theteby allowing me to gain a quick understanding of the normally difficult concepts. I would recommend this book to any scholl/professor looking for a great book on Evidence and would recommend keeping this book (as opposed to selling it back to your school or Amazon) as it will probably serve as a great tool as you continue to progress in your legal education.

As a student in the Carlow University Master of Fraud and Forensics program this book opened my eyes on the importance of understanding the criminal process. This book also assisted me in realizing the importance of the practices discussed can and will impact any future investigations I conduct.Gardner and Anderson did a great job on presenting the foundational concepts of how evidence is used in a criminal trial. They also illustrate the best and legal ways to go about collecting, preserving, and submitting evidence in a criminal matter. The use of real life examples and cases helped bring the concepts to an easy understandable manner. Not to mention this book did not hold back on discussing every possible type of evidence, such as, wiretapping, hearsay, child witnesses, lineups, and fingerprints, to name a few. Additionally, the layout of the chapters were easy to follow through the criminal and investigation process. I now have a much clearer understanding of the acceptable practices of investigating, gathering, handling, and presenting evidence for the best outcome in a trial.However, the only drawback to this book, is that some of the information can become boring.

I read the text as a required reading for a legal course in the Fraud and Forensic Science master's program at Carlow University. Prior to reading the text, the extent of my legal knowledge came from a few general business law courses taken in undergraduate school many moons ago. I found this particular text very easy to follow. The authors manage to pack in a great deal of significant information, rules, codes and laws pertinent to criminal evidence without being overbearing. The cases added throughout the chapters help put the laws into a realistic perspective; giving several examples of how the rule/law came to be and how it is used in current legal situations. Overall, the text was presented in a manageable format that would benefit a novelist or someone experienced in the legal field.

Gardner and Anderson's book, Criminal Evidence Principles and Cases, was a required text in my graduate program. I am pursuing a Master's of Science degree in the field of Fraud and Forensics from Carlow University. Being a non criminology major or law enforcement professional, I was not up-to-date on the laws regarding Rules of Evidence, what constitutes a lawful search, court room proceedings, etc. Gardner and Anderson does an excellent job in braking down the legal jargon to give the student a simple but strong understanding. After reading this book I can say with confidence I have a greater understanding of the Fourth, Fifth, and Sixth Amendments of the U.S. Constitution. As well as knowledge pertaining to court room proceedings such as, but not limited to, hearsay evidence, rules of evidence, lawful search an seizures, and the rule of expert witnesses. Gardner and Anderson's research in to cases to support the information in this book is very extensive. It is clear they put a lot of time and effort into this book and I believe I am a better student because of their work. I highly recommend this book to all readers.-Ron

I used this text as a part of Carlow University's Master of Fraud and Forensics program for a Legal Elements course. Prior to starting this course, I was not familiar with many laws, protocols, and procedures that are essential to know regardless of the legal situation is at hand. This text book carefully walks the reader through different aspects of law and the history that caused it to be what it is today. In addition to providing a detailed explanation for current day law, many state and federal cases are utilized to demonstrate the concept being described. For example, when reading the chapter about hearsay, many similar examples were utilized to show how very minor changes in a situation may make all the difference in the courtroom. I highly recommend this textbook for anyone interested in gaining a deeper understanding of law. The use of detailed cases and in depth examples really helps to fully understand the concept at hand.

While taking a Legal Elements of Fraud course in the Carlow University Masters of Science in Fraud and Forensics program, I used this text book. The book did an excellent job of showing applicable case law to the topics that were covered. Reading the cases was very interesting as to how the US Supreme Court ruled on particular matters and how that became the precedent going forward for that particular issue.Not being in a law enforcement field, many of the topics covered were new to me, and I found the textbook overall to be very interesting. It's fascinating how far the laws of this country have come since the country's inception and how they are applied today. I recommend this text book for anyone wishing to gain an understanding of the legal system.

This book is a very good starting point for a person who is looking to progress a little farther in their home studio. It teaches the most important fundamentals without getting too dry, and it keeps things moving along and interesting.But there's a strange juxtaposition of day one mixing lessons and instruction on dealing with customers in a commercial recording studio. I can't fathom how there could be a person who would find both of these things useful simultaneously. I would hope that by the time a person has a studio and is booking time, they would have long known not to mix in solo too much. Also, some of the illustrations come across as a lot of filler. Do we really need two drawings of people sitting at a desk talking about pricing for studio time taking up a quarter of a page?I'm glad I bought this book though. However, I recommend it only to someone who wants a quick and dirty (albeit thorough) lesson on the fundamentals, and I suggest to that person that they continue their education after this book with other books that go into these concepts in more depth.

Can't find the video examples. The audioengineering101.com web site has expired, and since I just paid for the book that is disappointing. They are still taking money, but not supplying all the content.

This book is great to have simply for its table of contents which you can use to go on line with to get 4 or 5 different explanations for the same concepts listed in this book...and you'll want to get other explanations because the ones in this book are not the be all and end all and the topics covered need varying degrees of repetition, review, and different languaging for everyone to fully understand.

I am not going there. Don't get me wrong; yay Marvel and all that, but these characters and this author deserve more way than just being described that way. This is a whole, imaginative universe unto itself that is in no way derivative of any of the major Universes we are seeing on the big screen these days. It's like comparing apples and banoffee pie. Nonsensical.That said, rich, subtle, nerdy homages abound, of course; you'll find outright references to classic Sci Fi, nods to some of our all-time favorite characters (cough *Kirk* cough), and even, if you look for them, exquisitely subtle pop culture references that will have the Dudeist in you vibrating with joy (kind of like Splurt when he's happy). Far out, man.From book one all the way through nine (the latest in the series as I write this), Barry weaves masterful, suspenseful, outright hilarious tales of the Space Team, and you can't help but find yourself rooting for them -- even when they mess things up -- and yes, maybe you'll even find yourself loving them a bit. Oh, and crying. Oh yes. You will cry... but don't let that deter you.Book one is the origin story of Space Team, a rag tag band of miscreants and misfits, thrown together into a difficult and convoluted space situation. Every element of their initial (and sometimes larger than life) character development becomes essential to the eventual gelling (sorry, Splurt) of this newly-formed maybe-not-Team-at-first. Then, in spite of their differences, the personalities, quirks, habits, and Cal's annoying propensity to put the word "space" in front of every noun, this weird combo actually makes for a kickass group of problem-solvers and doers. Even when they mess it up. Which they do. A lot.Barry is a master of taking his interesting characters, putting them in whacky, way-out situations, and seeing where things go without anything that happens feeling forced by the unseen hand (of the author, or space god, as it were). There is always the chance that situations will grow even larger than life, because the rules of this universe are only bound by the author's imagination and the nature of his characters. Whether he leads his characters or they lead him, the story is always going to go somewhere interesting, and the resolutions will be delightful and even poignant in their expansive creativity and heartfelt feels.These books get even better on the second read; I am in my second cycle of reading 1-9 while my husband takes his first read of them. I think that I laugh even harder this time and with greater joy. I know and love these characters now, and even though I know that Cal is going to be predictably verbose, Miz predictably whateverish, Lauren bumbling but strangely competent, Splurt, well, just splurty, and Mech either nerd or a tank, I find their antics, their relationships, their joys, and their heartbreaks just as exhilarating in re-reading, if not more so than the first read.I highly recommend this entire series to anyone who loves imaginative new SF! Come on. You know you need a laugh. Give this series a chance.

Doofus in SpaceBy Bob Gelms Space Team: A Comedic Sci-Fi Adventure by Barry J. Hutchison is not only a “must read” but also a “read immediately,” “read as soon as possible,” “read yesterday,” and very definitely “URGENT READ.” With everything happening in our country at the moment, what we all can use its multiple belly laughs. This book is where you will find them. Comedy and science fiction don’t often play well together. One book that quickly comes to mind as a complete success in merging these two genres is Douglas Adam’s The Hitchhikers Guide to the Galaxy. Mr. Adams is who our Mr. Hutchison is most frequently compared. I have to scrape the bottom of my memory to come up with any other books that are both great sci-fi and clever/humorous at the same time. The main character in Space Team is Cal Carver, a third-rate thief and con-man who keeps getting caught and thrown into prison. This time Cal is found guilty of identity theft and sentenced to two years in the slammer. He was supposed to serve his time in a general type prison but the prisoner delivery section dropped him off at the wrong place. Cal was conveyed to the dirtiest, darkest, toughest, most dangerous prison in America. One of Cal’s flaws is having a smart, sarcastic mouth which he unleashed on the warden trying to convince him they had made a mistake. Not very smart, as wardens always get the last laugh. They stuck him in a cell with a half-naked, psychopathic, cannibalistic serial killer, Eugene “The Butcher” Adwell. Cal went to a corner of the cell and tried to become part of the wall. He did not sleep well that night for other reasons, too. A prison riot started in the middle of the night. The cell door swung open and they grabbed Cal. He woke up in a room with a wall to wall picture of the Milky Way only to discovered that it wasn’t a picture, it was a window and that WAS the Milky Way. A guy named Sinclair came in and welcomed The Butcher of Earth. It didn't take Cal long to figure out that he was kidnapped from his cell and mistaken for The Butcher when Mr. Sinclair, the CEO of Zertex Corp and President of this part of the galaxy, needs Eugene to do a secret service for him. Cal as Eugene “The Butcher” Adwell will have some thoroughly dangerous help on this mission. First, Princess Mizette of the Greyx, part humanoid and part she-wolf, who has killed so many people nobody has an accurate count. Second, Gluk "Mech" Disselpoof, a Cyborg, half biological, half machine and full time “best hacker in the galaxy.” He has stolen billions of dollars and, oh yeah, a Class 11 Starship. Third, an adorable little guy named Splurt, a two-thousand-year-old shape shifter. And last, Gunso Loren, a member of the Zertex Corp Army and newly minted pilot – on simulators She is to accompany the group to make sure they stay on task. Their mission is to go to one of the baddest parts of the Galaxy disguised as pirates and deliver a ransom to the most fearsome warlord in this part of the Milky Way. They are to take away the plans for a weapon so terrifying and so powerful that it could allow the Zertex Corp to conquer this part of the Universe. You put all of that together and what you have is a blueprint for some great science fiction and a pure joy to experience.Cal can’t chew gum and think at the same time. He features himself Captain of their pirate starship. No one in the crew can think of a name for the ship. Cal was a TV junkie when he wasn’t in the can and he came up with the name “Shatner.” Since Cal is the only one who knows what Star Trek is, the pirate starship becomes "Shatner". There is another element at work in Space Team: A Comedic Sci-Fi Adventure, that is, Cal’s character. Even though it seems the plot is driven forward by Cal’s screw-ups, he does have some redeeming qualities. He is fiercely loyal to his friends and crew, to the point of putting his own life on the line, which he does a number of times. He doesn't t even think twice about it. It’s what you do for friends. He shares everything he has with his friends and crew and, most importantly, somehow it all works out in the end to Cal’s advantage. Space Team: A Comedic Sci-Fi Adventure is a good example of a western disguised as sci-fi. This, by the way, is book #1 in a series of eight. I’ll admit to you that I am doing something I almost never do: read past the first book. I liked this one sooooooo much I just finished reading book #5. I intend to read them all nonstop. I’m having a fantastic time. I’ll admit to you something else. I identify with Cal and I have no trouble at all putting myself in the story. It makes me forget about everything. The story takes me completely away from my life. That’s pretty darn good.

I loved "Space Team."This book is what you'd get if you took "Guardians of the Galaxy" and "Suicide Squad," mashed them together, and made it into a 1980s sitcom.You've got a rag-tag gang of space criminals flying a crappy spaceship on a secret mission that they may or may not actually understand. You've got cool and weird aliens. You've got snappy dialogue and funny situations. And you've got a green blob named "Splurt" that can take the form of anything someone thinks of.It's basically everything I want in a book.That is not to say it's perfect. The characters barely develop beyond one dimension. But, as I said, it reads like a sitcom. That's par for the course for a sitcom. The characters don't tear out your soul and speak to the human condition. They register only the bare minimum of emotion, even when they suffer a major loss like, oh, everyone they ever knew being murdered by space bugs. The characters each have their niche (the smooth one, the stuck-up one, the amorous one, the tough/smart guy), and they stay pretty neatly within them to deliver their specific category of jokes. It's a formula, but it's a time-honored one that I happen to enjoy very much.Also, the plot seems like a secondary consideration. The framework is heavily borrowed from the properties I mentioned at the top. But from that framework, Hutchinson hangs enough original ideas and literal-LOL moments that it doesn't feel like a rip-off. It feels new and at the same time familiar, which is a sweet spot to hit.It's not an empirically perfect book, but for this reader, it's pretty dang close. I look forward to reading more of the Space Team's space adventures.
